MEDICAL VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
This is an excellent Medical Volunteer Program for healthcare professionals in any area of medicine, as well as for nurses, midwives and pre-medical students who are planning to start their careers in medical education.
About Medical Volunteer Program
In India, many of the local people are dying from untreatable diseases. They cannot afford healthcare and often the medical facilities have poor hygienic standards. When you decide for the Volunteer Medical Program you can gain valuable experience, understanding and tolerance for daily life and healthcare in a developing country.
Volunteers will be given placement in clinics, private hospitals or slum healthcare projects throughout in Jaipur. If you have no experience the doctors will show you all they can and introduce the different medical cases to you. Your role will be mainly observational. If you have a medical background already you will receive more responsibility.
You can work together in Volunteer Programming in India with the local staff to support them with tasks like caring for injuries, vaccination chart keeping and recording, assisting the doctors. Then your skills and knowledge can be transferred into practice as well as you provide a much-needed help to local community. And you will get to know firsthand how basic medical care works in India and how to help with basic equipment.
Volunteers should bring their own medical white lab jacket, stethoscope gloves etc.
